CHRISTMAS ON LAKE TRASIMENO

From December 6, 2025  to January 6, 2026, during the “Luci sul Trasimeno” event, Castiglione del Lago will be transformed into an enchanted place, where lights, colors and magic will bring excitement to young and old alike.

The real beating heart of this event is the incredible Floating Christmas Tree, the largest in the world. With more than 2,400 perimeter lights and 250 interior lamps, this spectacular structure stretches for more than a kilometer over the lake, creating a fairy-tale scenery that can be admired by walking along the striking Tree Belvedere.

The walk starts from the "Poggio," below the walls of the Medieval Fortress, and each step provides a breathtaking view and a magical atmosphere.

But the surprises do not end there. Along the route you will find:

• Santa Xmas Garden, an enchanted village where you can meet Santa and his helpers.
• The Nativity Trail, dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the Song of the Creatures.
• Ice Park, an ice skating rink.

For those who like to stroll among the local flavors and atmosphere, the Market Village offers handicrafts and typical products, while the Xmas Café is perfect for enjoying sweets and hot drinks and warming up between visits.

The entire experience is pedestrian-only, with magic unfolding daily from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Tickets include discounted rates for children and free admission up to 12 years old. From Cortona, Castiglione del Lago is easily reached in about 30 minutes by car, with convenient parking lots near the center.
